I want to wish you all a belated Happy Holidays and New Year. Although I’ve been busy with my work (and have to put in extra time tomorrow in prep for Obamacare) I should be able to update with more regularity after the beginning of January. As I may have mentioned before, my trip was moved up to the last few weeks of January and I will arrive back around Feb 7th. I am informed that there will be plenty of internet access, but I do not plan on bringing a laptop, only a camera (with 16gig SD card) and a journal.
Since it is Worldly Wednesday, I’m going to share some knowledge in regards to junk mail. Apparently in the FSU it is rare or non-existent. If you have the good fortune to marry a woman from there and bring her back, chances are she will start receiving some addressed to her.
I am informed it is important to give the mail to her and let her open it. I know what it is, you know what it is, but a woman who moved to a foreign country just learning the language will be…upset…if she finds you’ve been throwing away letters addressed to her. What else have you been keeping from her? Part of me considers it in jest, but it’s an important landmine to watch for.
